This is for a service oriented business – we would like to be able to bill the customer at the time of service & give them a receipt right away. I have had Sears come and do maintenance repair work on our appliances and they use a laptop with a portable printer. This would save us a lot of time!

laser printer wireless

I am looking for a b&w laser printer that has wireless networking and a scanner function. I have found ones for 0 new that don’t have wireless, or same price for a wireless printer that doesn’t have scanning, that sort of thing.
Anyone know something that combines being wireless, having a laser printer and having a scanner? And is affordable?

I need a new printer, and have been very frustrated with inkjet printers so far, because the ink dries up in them, clogging the nozzles over time. I think part of the problem is that I go long periods of time without printing anything. I do print a lot, but only sporadically. I need an all in one, because my space is extremely limited, and I do like the photocopying feature anyhow. When I read reviews on home office color lasers, some people really run them down, but it always seems as if they are comparing them to their 00 machines they use at work, so I don’t know if the printers are junk, or these people are being unfair about their expectations for a 0 – 0 machine. I don’t print photos at home, but I do like to use color making greeting cards and business cards & signs etc. I know for a home machine, the price per page of printing might not be much lower than inkjet because they get you on the toner cartridges, but I am hoping that having so much less wasted ink might make it worth it.

Anyway, advice would be appreciated! I think I would prefer a laser, for reliability, but if there are good reasons not to get an inexpensive home model, please tell me. Thanks!

samsung laser printers

I ordered a Samsung color laser CLP-300N online. After 24 hours The dealer sent me an email saying the Samsung was on backorder but they would substitute the Xerox 6110N. They stated that Xerox makes the CLP series printers for Samsung. Looking at the stats and physical dim. for both printers they do look identical.

I’ve searched online for several hours this morning trying to find something in B & W that supports what the dealer is saying but have not found anything. I asked the dealer for supporting doc. on this but have net heard back from them.

Besides the toner, what else do consumers need to be aware of that they might need to replace?
I don’t do excessive printing, but when I do need to print quite a few things I find either

1. My cartridge is dried up
2. I’m out of ink

hp color laser printer

I was given a HP 2820 (all-in-one) but they said I’ll need a new fuse. It pretty much controls the printing process. Not sure how or why (printers are one big question mark to me) but I do know that it is the only part that isn’t working. Does anyone know what they meant by that and what I am supposed to buy to make it work (&/or how to install)?
